Project goals

Open market Expression of Interest (EOI) to identify qualified and capable contractors that meet the functions and specialisations required by Sydney Water (SW) leading to a Selective Request for Tender (RFT) for the provision of Network Repairs & Conduit Condition Inspection Services.

Scope

Network Repairs

  • Dig & repair sections of defective sewer/stormwater mains
  • Relay sewer/stormwater mains - length of main varies
  • Locate & raise; rehabilitate & reconstruct maintenance holes, lamp holes and verticals
  • Patch line small section of defective sewer/stormwater mains
  • Reinstate junctions and uncut junctions
  • Repair collapsed liner
  • Repair to intrusive junction
  • CCTV analysis
  • Root cutting and jetting of sewer/stormwater mains and house service sewer lines
  • Repair/rebuild aqueducts, concrete structures and driveways
  • Repair/reconstruct retaining structures
  • Repair by robotics
  • Renew pipelines by trenchless technology such as pipe bursting
  • Install reflux valves to house service lines
  • Minor design
  • Setup and maintain sewer bypass when required
  • Condition assessment of water mains and sewer rising mains
  • Inspection of sewer/stormwater conduits and structures
  • Cleaning of conduits and removal of silt, roots and debris
  • Descaling of cast iron sewer mains
  • Removal, transport and disposal of all silt, roots, debris and waste material
  • Rising main repairs
  • Landscaping works 

Conduit Condition Inspection Services

  • arranging access to and locating maintenance holes needed for inspection and cleaning
  • condition assessment / inspection of sewers and stormwater conduits and structures
  • condition assessment of large diameter mains using a controlled floating device with the use of but not limited to ropes and winches

Opportunity requirements

1. Work, Health and Safety

1. AS4801/AS/NZS/ISO45001; OR

NSW Government WHS Management System and Auditing Guidelines - 6th Edition; OR

Office of Federal Safety Commission (OFSC accreditation).

2. Demonstrated 5 years organisational experience in providing the following services (delivered together or as a separable portion) either within a Water Utility (water or sewer), Civil Construction or related industry

Sewer Network Repairs; OR/and

Conduit Condition Inspection.

 3. Organisational structure demonstrating the dedicated workforce to operate within SW’s area of operations including metropolitan Sydney, Blue Mountains, and Illawarra.

with 365-day capacity for delivery of Network Repairs; OR/and

with 365-day capacity for delivery of Conduit Condition Inspection / assessment.

 4. Asset register demonstrating plant and equipment available to support the dedicated workforce

Demonstrate and details on Plant & Equipment current demand / available capacity.

5. Chain of Responsibility (CoR) as per the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).

CoR procedure / policy;

Your system is tested to ensure your company (any affiliated subcontractors) abide by the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
