Tender Description
The works to be completed include:
Rebuild of the sportsground, with playing field dimensions of 158 m in length and 122 m at the widest point, plus a 5-m run-off zone between the boundary line and the surrounds, giving a total area of 18,024m2 including the 5-m run-off zone.
The Contractor shall allow for clearing, excavation, backfilling, compaction and dewatering in any material that may be reasonably expected by an experienced Contractor to be encountered on site. The Contractor shall deposit all materials that cannot be used in the works at an approved refuse disposal site. The Contractor shall allow for all costs and charges in connection with the removal and disposal of such materials.
The contract works for this RFT includes but are not limited to:
• Placement of a temporary fencing around the perimeter of the site for the duration of the project.
• Removal and disposal of the existing turf surface and soil to a depth of 50 mm in the profile.
• Cultivation of the soil profile and removal of remaining vegetative material from the surface.
• Regrading of the existing playing surface to reduce the slope at the southern end, according to the contour design by Porter Consulting Engineers.
• Importing turf sand for the subgrade, along with minor cut and fill to achieve the required levels.
• Importing the turf growing medium to a thickness of 50 mm on the surface, according to the requirements of this specification.
• Removal and replacement of the existing goal posts and in-ground sleeves.
• Installation of two grated-drains with soak wells in the oval surrounds, according to the design specified by Porter Consulting Engineers.
The following works will be undertaken by others.
• Installation of a new irrigation system, after the completion of regrading and before the turf growing medium is imported.
• Planting of jumbo rolls of couch grass, after the final design level for earthworks has been achieved, and the irrigation system is fully operational.
