Tender Description

Douglas Shire Council are replacing the existing Daintree River Ferry by November 2027 with a larger/wider 4 lane ferry. To ensure the required efficiency outcomes of traffic movement across the river, there is a requirement to undertake landside infrastructure civil works in respect of the following items:

  • design from concept drawings
  • changes to existing traffic lanes
  • additional traffic lanes
  • increased traffic queueing lanes and earthworks
  • road marking and signage
  • vegetation works and removal
  • environmental oversight to meet State and Federal environmental legislation and guidelines
  • pedestrian pathways
  • car and bus parking areas
  • relocation of existing ticket booths
  • electrical and communications ducting and cable supply
  • ferry boom gates and control systems
  • street lighting and CCTV operations
  • conformance testing
  • riverbanks protection works
  • ferry landing ramps construction and installation
  • ferry cable pylons
  • concrete bund for storage of river dredge materials
  • winch anchor points for ferry out of water inspections
