The Gilgandra Shire is a local government area in the Orana region of New South Wales, Australia. The Shire is located adjacent to the junction of the Newell, Oxley and Castlereagh highways and is approximately 400km or 5 hours' drive by car from Sydney CBD.

The Gilgandra Shire Council (GSC) currently owns and operates aged and disability care facilities as well as providing several community-based care programs which include:

* Indigenous specific Residential Aged Care - Jack Towney Hostel

* Dementia care - Cooee Lodge Hostel

* Retirement Village - Cooee Retirement Village

* Disability Housing Support - Orana Living

* Commonwealth Home Support Packages

* Meals on Wheels

* Community Transport

* Home Care Packages

* NDIS

In response to the Commonwealth Government's Royal Commission findings and the new aged care standards, a new Council directorate focused wholly on aged care and disability services was recently established.

Following an external review of Council's existing aged care services, Council has identified and is actively seeking proposals from skilled and qualified suppliers for the design, installation and support of a new flexible and resilient Resident Call System (RCS) for Cooee Lodge Hostel as a priority. However, the possibility to leverage the RCS across other community- based services and facilities is desired.
