World War II Memorial Bowl is located towards the bottom of Monument Hill (World War I Memorial), at the corner of Memorial Drive and Affleck Street, Albury NSW.
It is a major component of the pedestrian link between Dean Street and Monument Hill in Albury.
The passive open space of the World War II Memorial Bowl which is clearly bordered by a rock and mortar wall has been underutilised. The current infrastructure comprises of a small playground and picnic setting on the western side of the site are dated and requires upgrade.
The upgrade of World War II Memorial Bowl and its immediate surrounds aims to enhance the site to increase community use while preserving the heritage significance of the area. This project is being funded by AlburyCity in partnership with the Australian Government through Stronger Country
Communities Fund (SCCF) 5.
The scope of works included in this contract is summarized below:
- earthworks and drainage;
- concrete works, rockworks and blockworks;
- supply and install of proprietary furniture;
- supply and install of playground equipment;
- supply and install of fitness equipment; and
- surfacing and landscaping works
