The University of Newcastle invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified and experienced Investment Fund Managers to provide services in the establishment and ongoing management of an Innovation Fund. The purpose of the fund is to accelerate new products and services to market by providing proof of concept, pre-seed and seed investment funds for early stage startups and spinouts. Fund recipients may be staff, students, alumni or other affiliates of the University; or any other startup from the Hunter Region that participates in the University’s suite of entrepreneurial programs through the I2N.

This EOI is the preliminary stage in a process that will lead to a formal Request for Proposal (RFP). The EOI is an opportunity for interested parties to propose an appropriate model and approach that will achieve the intended purpose. The proposal should outline resourcing, structure, costs, relevant experience and comparative advantage. A minimum of $20M fund size is anticipated.
