The District Council of Yankalilla (the Council) invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of 880m of Road Reconstruction of Range Road in Parawa (the Services). The Council will enter into a Contract for the Services with the successful Tenderers.

Range Road is a sealed, undivided, two-way rural arterial road under care, control and management of Council. Range Road connects Main South Road to the west, with Encounter Bay and Victor Harbor to the east. Range Road is included in the proposed South Coast Feight Corridor which forms part of the LGA 2030 regional transport plan. The road is to be gazetted for 26m B-Double heavy vehicle GML route but currently operates under permit through the National Vehicle Regulator to allow access from Cape Jervis, via Victor Harbor to Strathalbyn. Range Road is also a tourist route with access to Deep Creek National Park and access between Southern Fleurieu Peninsula and Victor Harbor. This project incorporates the following broad scope of works but not limited to;

• Full road reconstruction on existing seal and pavement on Range Road between 1111 Range Road and 1195 Range Road (approximately 900m)
• The pavement treatment includes – Thin asphalt pavement on granular 16/7 S15E double spray seal on granular pavement reconstruction of 150mm pavement base-course (PM1/20 QG), 230mm pavement sub-base (PM2/20 GQ)
• Reconstruction of unsealed shoulders and driveway comprising of 150mm thick and a 115mm unbound granular pavement
• Upgrade existing roadside drainage (optional)
• Traffic control management
• Upgrade of traffic control - signage and line marking (Guard rail optional)

Council intends to carry out the associated Stormwater and drainage works in house, so these works are excluded from the contracted works. The works will be completed prior to the contracted works commencing. However, Council asks that costs for the stormwater and drainage works be included as an option to incorporate the works into one package.

Council intends to install the guard railing associated with the drawings as part of a larger body of works along the length of Range Road, so these works are excluded from the contracted works. However, Council asks that costs for the guard rail works be included as an option to incorporate the works into one package.

Tenderers should consider construction timelines for the Reconstruction fo Range Road Parawa to start at the latest 1 of January 2025 and must practically complete by the latest date of 1 July 2025.
