Tender Description
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, Office of the Supervising Scientist Division requires an independent organisation with a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accreditation to perform a wide range of chemical analyses on water and sediment samples and provide accurate data reports in a timely manner. The procurement is intended to support ongoing environmental monitoring, ensuring compliance with the Environment Protection (Alligator Rivers Region) Act (1978).
The successful supplier will be responsible for:
• Conducting chemical analyses on both water and sediment samples to detect heavy metals, organic contaminants, and other harmful substances.
• Providing detailed data reports within 5 business days of sample receipt, including trend analysis, a summary of findings, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensuring that all results meet the specified detection limits, as defined by OSS, and adhere to NATA accreditation must include Chemical Testing – 7.81 Constituents of the environment.
• Handling, logging, and processing samples within 24 hours of receipt, with any sample integrity issues reported to OSS immediately.
• Maintaining NATA accreditation for the duration of the contract and ensuring compliance with relevant Australian standards (e.g., AS/NZS 5667).
Conditions for Participation:
Tenders must meet the following mandatory requirements:
- be NATA accredited
- be able to report in the format compatible with ESdat
- The detection limits specified in Table 1 of the attached ATM document are required
Timeframe for Delivery:
Handling, logging, and processing samples within 24 hours of receipt, with any sample integrity issues reported to OSS immediately.
- This is a period arrangement for services required as and when samples are sent for analysis.
- Initial arrangement would be for a period of 3 years form the date of the award of contract.
