The Faculty Paediatric Training and Assessment Committee (FPTAC) is seeking expressions of interest from AFRM Fellows to join the Committee as an Appointed Member.
There’s 1 Fellow position vacant on the FPTAC in the role of Appointed Member. This is a great opportunity for Fellows who are willing to support current Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Advanced Trainees and the training program.
One of the main roles of the FPTAC is to monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine for Australasia.
In this role, you’ll help shape the physicians of the future and positively contribute to the direction, workforce and culture of Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
You’ll be involved in the reviewing and monitoring of training program requirements, assessment and curricula in consultation with the relevant specialty society and other stakeholders, and recommend changes to the College Education Committee, via the AFRM Education Committee.
Other key responsibilities:
- overseeing the training of Paediatric Rehabilitation Trainees
- monitor and review training program requirements, assessment and curricula in Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine
- overseeing the coordination of the AFRM Paediatric Fellowship Written and Clinical Examinations
- engaging in continuous quality improvement of all assessments
- responsibility for the annual working parties that write examination questions for all the AFRM written and clinical examinations as well as oversee the External Training Modules
Meetings are held 3 to 4 times a year, with 1 meeting being face-to-face, usually held in August. The remaining meetings will be held via video conference.
Members are appointed to the FPTAC for a 3-year term and can be renewed for a further 3-year term.
