Fraser Coast Regional Council is inviting offers from suitably qualified and experienced Tenderers for the Geological and Concrete Site Investigation at Lenthalls Dam.
Lenthalls Dam is the primary source of potable water for the northern part of the Fraser Coast Region, including the major population centre Hervey Bay. It is located approximately 9km Southwest of Torbanlea on the Burrum River. The dam is operated by the Water and Waste Services Directorate (W&WS) of Fraser Coast Regional Council (Council).
The dam was constructed in 1984, and its storage was increased in 2007 by the installation of variable buoyancy crest gates.
A Dam Safety Review of Lenthalls Dam is currently being undertaken by GHD Pty Ltd, overseen by FCRC and an Independent Technical Review Panel. The results of this Geological and Concrete Site Investigation will feed into this study.
