The Department of Health (DoH) requires the provision of an online suite of surgical and medical procedure-specific information sheets (PSIS) for the WA public health system.

The PSIS are required for adult and paediatric surgical and medical specialties in two formats:

1.  Surgical and Medical Procedure Specific Information Sheets (PSIS) used by Western Australian Public Health Care practitioners to inform patients about the risks and benefits of their proposed care or treatment, to a level that enables them to obtain informed consent to act; and

2. Publicly accessible Procedure Specific Information Sheets (Public PSIS) to enable health consumers, carers and the general community to access basic/summarised information regarding medical procedures to facilitate discussions between potential patients and Western Australian Public Health Care practitioners.
