CON24062 Whangarei District Council is seeking Registrations of Interest to shortlist qualified contractors to undertake the Technical Assessments component of the Whangarei Urban Flood Strategy.

We are looking for suppliers who can provide technical expertise to understand the nature of changing flood risks with climate change, identify and evaluate combinations of options, and develop investment and intervention pathways, to support the development of business cases for flood risk management and adaptation options for Whangarei city.

We are looking for a multi-disciplinary team with expertise across a range of areas including risk assessment, hydraulic modelling, engineering concept design and optioneering, socio-economic evaluation methods, and climate change adaptation pathways.

The technical assessments phase will provide detailed, evidence-based information about the relative feasibility, effectiveness and cost-efficiency of different flood risk management options, and how the options can be implemented in combination as pathways. The assessments will evaluate how climate change impacts affect the feasibility and effectiveness of options over time and provide evidence and recommendations to support councils to make informed decisions about managing flood risk.
