Tender Description
State Forest Road is a local rural road under the control of Warrumbungle Shire Council. The road is located in the foothills of the Liverpool Range. The road intersects with Coolah Creek Road, 21km from the town of Coolah. State Forest Road provides the only constructed public road access to the Coolah Tops National Park. The total length of State Forest Road is 11km. The road is winding and very steep in sections. The grade of the first 2.8km from Coolah Creek Road averages 9%.
This project involves construction of the first 5.3km of State Forest Road in accordance with detailed geometric drawings. The horizontal and vertical alignments of the roadworks, in general, closely follow the alignment of the existing unsealed road. The remote location of the site, combined with steep and winding terrain these makes this roadworks particularly challenging.
Council is utilising TfNSW Quality Assurance (QA) specifications for the entire scope of works.
The Contractor engaged by Council for this contract must prequalified to TfNSW Prequalification level R2.
In general, the scope of works for this project includes roadworks in the following list:
- Preparation of QA management plans as listed in the Preliminaries document
- Site setout including surveying of earthworks quantities.
- Establishment and maintenance of soil and water management control measures.
- Removal of trees and chipping of trees.
- Demolition and disposal of concrete structures and pipe culverts.
- Demolition and disposal of existing cattle grids.
- Excavation for and installation of concrete pipe culverts.
- Earthworks
- Supply and installation of pavement trench drains.
- Installation of cattle grids and adjoining fences.
- Construction of unbound pavement
- Bitumen spray sealing of pavement.
- Supply and installation of safety barrier fence
- Supply and installation of cs.
- Supply and installation of guide posts.
- Traffic management
