Tender Description

Paramatta Linen Service has three laundry industrial rail systems run by Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) that control linen bag movement. The PLCs are now obsolete and require replacement.

Project goals

The supplier must conduct a comprehensive site survey and assessment of the current rail system control infrastructure at Parramatta Linen Services. The upgraded rail systems should function independently and ensure continuous operations through an override system. The new control systems must feature user-friendly HMI software for easy monitoring, real-time data visualization, alarm logging, history tracking, and diagnostic tools. All components must come from reputable, reliable brands, meet NSW Health’s Security Policy Requirements for ICT Products and Services, and be compatible with existing ICT infrastructure and HWAN. Backup and redundancy mechanisms must be in place for reliability, and existing UPS units should protect the system. Training for PLS maintenance staff and compliance with safety regulations and industry standards are essential.

Scope

The scope is fully outlined in attached specifications document, the work includes upgrading control systems for the Classified Sorting Rail System, the Small Clean 50Kg Rail System, and the Large Clean 100Kg Rail System. This includes replacing and upgrading control cabinets, PLC components, power supplies, processors, communication modules, and input/output modules. The supplier must upgrade PLC control for all sorting bins and implement an override system to allow the sorting belt to operate independently of rail issues. The supplier must supply, install, wire, and connect control cabinets and servers, including any additional necessary cabling, and provide four PCs to enable users to view all three systems via a single interface. The supplier must ensure compliance with NSW Health’s Security Policy Requirements, collaborate with HealthShare ICT for integration, and provide network architecture diagrams. Additional UPS units should be supplied if needed. Finally, training for PLS maintenance staff on system operation and maintenance is required.
