A significant weather system in October 2022 resulted in flash flooding and riverine flooding in urban and rural areas of the Loddon Shire. Wedderburn, located in the centre of the Shire, had its wettest October on record. While the result of the flooding was chaotic for farms, communities, businesses and infrastructure, the resilient spirit of the community coming together to minimise impact and rebuild was truly inspiring.

As part of the Council’s Community Flood Recovery Program Loddon Shire Council seeks to engage an artist, or a team of artists, particularly those with experience in art therapy, to work in collaboration with the Loddon community to scope a series of projects that foster a distinct local community identity and leaves behind a lasting piece of art that reflects each community’s resilient spirit.

The artist/s will work with the following 14 communities:
