The Advanced Training Committee (ATC) in Rheumatology is seeking expressions of interest for a new member, an Australian representative on the Committee.
The ATC oversees the Advanced Training program in Rheumatology in the Adult Medicine and Paediatric Divisions.
Key responsibilities
- monitor and assess each trainee’s progress in Rheumatology
- confirm that trainees meet all requirements to progress to Fellowship
- oversee training and provide support to supervisors in Rheumatology
- accredit Advanced Training sites or programs in Rheumatology
- assess recognition of prior learning
- monitor and review Rheumatology training requirements, assessment and curricula with input from relevant specialty societies and other stakeholders
- recommend changes to the CEC, via the AMDEC
- provide guidance on assessment and resource content
- advise on matters related to OTP, as needed
- recommend specialty specific CPD and educational resources for members
- adjust training requirements for individual trainees, as appropriate, following College policies and procedures
- evaluate and advise on specialist recognition in Rheumatology for Fellows in the PCHD or AMD who haven’t completed the Rheumatology Advanced Training program
The successful candidate will need:
- to be a Fellow of the RACP with specialty in Rheumatology
- based in Australia
- an interest in medical education
- excellent communication skills
- excellent interpersonal skills
- ability to respond to email communication promptly
- ability to conduct up to 2 Training Site Accreditation visits per year - usually one interstate
Members are appointed to the ATC for a 3-year term, which can be renewed for up to 2 terms. The ATC meets in person once a year at the RACP Sydney office.
