Council (the Principal) is seeking Quotations from appropriately qualified and experienced Contractors to replace the existing water main on Oxley Drive in Mittagong, NSW.

Project goals:

Council (the Principal) is seeking Quotations from appropriately qualified and experienced Contractors to replace the existing Asbestos Cement (AC) DN100 water main on Oxley Drive in Mittagong, NSW with polyethylene PE100 PN16 DN125 pipe on the existing or adjacent alignment. The existing water supply services are to be maintained for the duration of construction.

SCOPE:

• The Contractor is to install the new pipe on the existing alignment or adjacent to the existing AC main. The construction method may be open-trenching, directional drilling, or a combination of both. Where the existing alignment is used, exhume and dispose the asbestos cement pipe as per WHS and SafeWork NSW standards, regulations and asbestos management practices.
• Install a new polyethylene PE100 PN16 DN125 pipe along Oxley Drive, Mittagong as shown in the diagrams of Appendix A. The proposed alignment generally follows the alignment of the original AC reticulation main.
• Install 185m of polyethylene PE100 PN16 DN125 pipe and reconnect the new main to the existing pipework at the three (3) tie-in points.
• Stop valves (150mm), hydrants (100mm), and re-connections are to be installed as shown in the project scope diagrams of Appendix A.
• Remove all existing, redundant valve and hydrant covers and backfill to render abandoned.
• Reconnect existing water services with DN100-sized service connections.
• Reinstate the surface and subgrade to match the surrounding materials and levels.

This includes roadway, kerb and gutter, driveways, grassed footpath, etc.
