Tender Description
Grounds maintenance services are required at the Airport and Visitors Information Centre (VIC) to ensure Council’s grounds are maintained to a high standard which satisfies the expectations of both Council and members of the general public. Suppliers need to protect the heritage significance (if any) to the community and respect staff and visitors at each site.
Council are seeking a lump sum fee and breakdown of rates per visit of the four following areas:
1. Airport East
Scheduled mowing and garden maintenance - 3446sqm (Map A), 455 Wine Country Drive, Pokolbin
• Twice monthly service
• Council point of contact is the Airport Operations Coordinator
2. Airport
Scheduled grass mowing – 260,000sqm (Map B), 455 Wine Country Drive, Pokolbin
• 15 mows (weather dependant) per year
• Council point of contact is the Airport Operations Coordinator
3. Airport
Unscheduled grounds maintenance – 455 Wine Country Drive, Pokolbin on an as required basis at the discretion of the Airport Operations Coordinator
• Tree pruning
• Garden maintenance and waste removal
• Hedging
• Cleaning services exterior
• Fence maintenance
4. Visitors Information Centre (VIC)
Scheduled mowing and garden maintenance 9400sqm (See Map C), 455 Wine Country Drive, Pokolbin. The scope of works includes:
• Twice monthly mowing and edging service within area A
• Examination of the site, list and report any broken, missing, unhealthy items/furniture/fences/plants;
• Achieving a mow height not exceeding 40mm at every service;
• Carry out snipping around all park furniture, paths, gardens, trees and perimeter fencing;
• Blow excess clippings and grass off pathways, away from buildings;
• Quarterly spraying of weeds (bindii and clover) in area B;
• Bi-monthly weeding of garden beds (mulch if necessary);
• Bi-monthly hedge trimming;
• Fertilise area B quarterly in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations;
• Woodchip, compacted gravel and decorative rock layers to be keep free of weeds, sticks and rubbish;
• Removal of visible lawn clippings and dispose of them off-site in a legal manner (use of mulching mower which cuts clippings into small pieces that sift down into the lawn is acceptable);
• Removal of ground litter, paper, bottles, cans and the like from the grounds and dispose of in bins provided in a safe and efficient manner; and
• Council point of contact is the Visitors Centre Coordinator on 02 4993 6700.
