VDRC invites quotes from suitably qualified accounting firms, organisations or individuals for the provision of audit services for an initial period of 3 years commencing with the audit for the 2024/25 financial year.

The service required to be provided to VDRC includes, but not limited to:

* Audit of the general-purpose financial statements for each year, based upon the requirements of the Local Government Act and the Local Government (Accounting) Regulations

*Audit of expenditure of government grants requiring a separate audit report

*Audit of specific purpose financial reports due outside of financial years

*Provision of independent advice to the Council's Finance and Audit Committee, by attendance either in person or on by phone.

In addition to the above, the services to be provided will include reasonable services which a professional auditor would normally supply. These could include services such as evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of internal control and accounting systems and interpretations of relevant new legislation.
