Tender Description
Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Tenderers for works associated with the installation of sports lights, including Ausgrid preparatory works at Memorial Oval Bankstown.
Project goals
Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Tenderers for works associated with the installation of sports lights, including Ausgrid preparatory works, at Memorial Oval, Bankstown.
Tenderers are not required to be members of Construction Scheme (SCM0256) or Scheme (SCM4721) to be considered for this project.
Following the successful refurbishment, this Tender is for Phase 2 of the works and focuses on the addition of stadium lighting to Bankstown Oval. Stadium lighting will help maximise the use of the ground by increasing the hours of the day that ground can be utilised. This results in a more versatile public open space for community use and a more viable commercial operation.
Appropriate sports lighting will turn this suburban cricket ground into a key facility that can host various types of events within the community, helping to add a diverse range of possibilities to the site. The provision for Class 2 lighting (AS 2560.2) means that the Bankstown Memorial Oval becomes a viable destination for larger sporting fixtures such as the State Cricket, Big Bash and Women’s World Cup fixtures.
