Overview
The Northern Territory Homelessness Strategy aims to strengthen the homelessness system to deliver improved outcomes for Territorians who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
In applying for funding applicants acknowledge their mutual interest in preventing homelessness with particular regard to people experiencing disproportionate housing inequality and disadvantage.- Intervene early to prevent homelessness
- Deliver culturally safe services that focus on people experiencing homelessness
- Building an effective homelessness system.
Hubs and Day Centres
Provision days access to dignity services, including toilets, showers, laundry, meals, occasional storage, charging facilities, safe and secure respite and access or warm supported referral to connect with Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) and other specialist services aimed at addressing health, financial legal, housing and other issues.
Recurrent funding from 1 July 2025 will be provided to support the delivery of the funded activities for a 4-year period from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2029.
Non-recurrent funding will be provided for one-off innovative and/or service improvement activities as defined in the grant application.
