Tender Description
Overview
The Northern Territory Homelessness Strategy aims to strengthen the homelessness system to deliver improved outcomes for Territorians who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
In applying for funding applicants acknowledge their mutual interest in preventing homelessness with particular regard to people experiencing disproportionate housing inequality and disadvantage. This program has three key priority areas:
- Intervene early to prevent homelessness
- Deliver culturally safe services that focus on people experiencing homelessness
- Building an effective homelessness system.
Assertive Outreach
Reaching out to individuals who are homeless and may not be accessing traditional support services, often due to complex or challenging circumstances. Referral and service delivery will include efforts to support a progressive transition beyond tertiary accommodation.
Recurrent funding from 1 July 2025 will be provided to support the delivery of the funded activities for a 4-year period from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2029.
Non-recurrent funding will be provided for one-off innovative and/or service improvement activities as defined in the grant application.
