The Australian Government is inviting applications via an open process to apply to deliver services under the Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Program – Multicultural Peak Body Funding activity from 2024–25 to 2027–28.
The objectives of the grant opportunity are to enable national multicultural peak bodies to:
- build and support partnerships with the Australian Government to strengthen Australia’s multicultural capacity and promote a greater understanding and acceptance of Australia’s inclusive national identity, civics and citizenship, and multicultural and multi-faith diversity.
- deliver projects and activities that enhance the multicultural sector, organisations and individuals to facilitate the participation and inclusion of both new and emerging communities as well as established community groups.
The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are:
- improved partnerships between the multicultural sector and Government to build on the strengths of multiculturalism and enable the Australian Government to respond to contemporary challenges.
- improved outcomes for multicultural communities through increased awareness and elevation of multicultural voices in service design, delivery and reform.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to apply for this grant you must:
- meet the following description of a national multicultural peak body:
- are non-government, national and represent the interests of a range of culturally and linguistically diverse communities
- have membership that consists of individuals and smaller organisations with allied interests
- provide advice on policy and programs and representation of the multicultural sector to government
- support, consult and provide information to members, including sharing best practice, research and coordination of advocacy and education.
- be a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation
and be one of the following entity types:
- Company
- Cooperative
- Incorporated Association
- Indigenous Corporation
- Statutory Entity.
If you are applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust , the Trustee must be one of the eligible entity type as listed above.
Grant Activity Timeframe:
Assessment of applications - February 2025
Approval of outcomes of selection process - April 2025
Notification to applicants - May 2025
Negotiations and award of grant agreements - Late May 2025
Earliest start date of grant activity - June 2025
End date of grant activity - 30 June 2029.
