The Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA), part of the West Australian Government, is responsible for the operation of all train, bus and ferry public transport services in the Perth metropolitan area as well as regional centres across the state.

Customer experience is an integral part of providing services for the community. One aspect of the passenger journey is the automated announcements onboard train services which provides route service information to passengers such as the stopping pattern of the service they are currently boarding. For Transperth train services, the generation of new messages is currently achieved by pre-recording audio using voice artists. These audio files are then uploaded to each railcar and played at the corresponding location via the onboard Passenger Information System (PIS).

The PTA requires the generation and usage of audio file as detailed within the provided request documents.
