Project goals

The goal is to ensure the rail track is free from vegetation. There is a requirement under the Sydney Trains “Vegetation Hazard Management in the Rail Corridor Standard” for the ballasted area under the rail track to be free from vegetation. Herbicide application of the rail track is required to achieve this outcome.

Scope

There is a requirement to conduct the herbicide application services 3 to 4 times per annum to achieve the desired effect. The herbicide application is conducted at night to avoid any interruption to passenger services. The runs are planned over specific sections of track to ensure a complete coverage of the network. The scope also includes adhoc services which could include other areas of the network.
