Expressions of Interest for three Independent Members

We are currently calling for Expressions of Interest from three suitably qualified individuals to serve as independent members to Council’s Audit and Risk Committee commencing in early 2025.

The Audit and Risk Committee is a statutory committee established under section 126 of the Local Government Act 1999 and provides independent assurance and advice to Council on accounting, financial management, internal controls, risk management and governance matters.

The Committee operates in accordance with its adopted Terms of Reference which are available from Council’s website at www.barossa.sa.gov.au. The appointment will be for a two-year term, with a minimum of four meetings per year plus any special meetings that may be called.

A sitting fee of $690 (presiding member) and $435 (Independent members) per meeting will be payable to the successful applicants. If you have an interest in chairing the committee, please indicate this within your expression of interest.

Expressions of Interest should clearly outline qualifications and experience in Accounting, Financial Management and Reporting, Procurement, Risk Management and/or Governance.
