Tender Description

This Tender is invited by the Issuer.

Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has identified significant risks associated with the reliance on legacy Microsoft (MS) Access Databases (DB) that are performing various business functions. DAFF is seeking an efficient mechanism to transition the existing MS Access DBs to a technology that aligns with the department’s technology strategy and roadmap. Based on the lessons learnt from a manual conversion to transition the complex business logic, combined with a lack of required skilled technical resources, the department seeks to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transition Access DBs.

Scope

  • The PoC focuses on the transitioning of the MS Access DB, encompassing the following components:
  • Data migration and storage including tables, relationships, constraints & referential integrity
  • Forms and user interfaces (UI) for data entry and interaction, including any UI validation logic
  • Queries and reports currently built for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting
  • Transition of macros and any automation currently built for business functions and workflows
  • Security settings and any access control logic currently implemented

Deliverables

  • Migration of MS Access data with constraints and relationships over to a MS relational SQL DB
  • Separation of concern enforced via a three-tiered architecture (frontend, logic, and data layers)
  • Frontend & logic tier built using modern programming languages (e.g. ReactJS, C#.Net)
  • All three tiers operational and hosted on vendor’s MS Azure as a Platform as a Service (PaaS) model
  • Detailed PoC outcome report produced matching each success criteria (above) along with supporting evidence
