Nangkita Road, Mount Compass requires stabilisation treatments of Foamed Bitumen Stabilisation (FBS) and Lightly Bound Cement Stabilisation (LBCS) to rejuvenate the road to provide a safe and long-lasting sealed road. Alexandrina Council invites Respondents to quote for the provision of improving the currently defective sealed pavement surface and address the underlying causes of failure.

Background

1. The areas to be treated have been selected and treatment types are nominated in the Contract Scope developed by PAS.
2. The contract scope was revised taking into considerations of learnings of the 2023/24 Stage 1 Stabilisation Works carried out on Nangkita Road.
3. Council will consider alternative proposals; however, a conforming tender is to be submitted for the alternative to be considered.
4. The Council will enter into an Agreement for these Services with the successful Tenderer.

Scope of Works

Further specified in ‘RFT000002 – Contract Scope,’ and ‘RFT000002 – Request for Tender Document.’

The project scope is to improve the currently defective sealed pavement surface and address the underlying causes of failure including:

1. Maintain the current seal width and road formation consisting nominally of 8m of seal (3.5m lanes and 0.5m sealed shoulder) and varying width of unsealed shoulders (up to 1.5m). Curve widenings are to maintain the existing configurations.
2. Pavement rehabilitation of the sealed carriageway using Foamed Bitumen Stabilisation (FBS) and Lightly Bound Cement Stabilisation (LBCS).
3. Ancillary works relating to the pavement works including line marking, delineators and signage etc.
