Tender Description
The City of Fremantle is a local government authority located 20km south of the Perth CBD comprising the suburbs of Beaconsfield, Fremantle, Hilton, North Fremantle, O'Connor, Samson, South Fremantle and White Gum Valley.
The Town of Fremantle Council was founded in 1871 and it wasn't until 1929 that it gained city status.
Today, the City employs more than 400 people and services approximately 30,000 residents over a land area of 19 square kilometres.
We pride ourselves on responsible social, economic and environmental management and in 2009, Fremantle became WA's first carbon neutral city.
In September 2014, Fremantle became one of only two councils in Australia to achieve national One Planet certification for sustainability.
About this Tender:
The Infrastructure Engineering Team is dedicated to maintaining the critical infrastructure that keeps the City of Fremantle community running smoothly. This includes managing stormwater systems to prevent flooding and protect public health. This is achieved by diligently maintaining drains, culverts, and pipes by clearing blockages and debris. Our goal is to celebrate the essence of Fremantle by maintaining these essential services. To support these efforts, the City of Fremantle requires a reliable Jetting and Vacuum Excavator Truck to assist in the upkeep of these vital assets.
These vehicle specifications have been designed to ensure suitability for the required tasks, durability, and compliance with operational needs.
This proposal outlines a design for a Supply and Delivery One (1) New Combination Jetting and Vacuum Drainage Truck capable of efficiently cleaning and maintaining the City's 4,200 Pits and 96,840 metres of drainage pipes. The purchase of a vacuum and jetting unit will allow the City Of Fremantle to provide an increased level of service for residents to clean and maintain a greater number of pits throughout the year and be available 24/7 to mitigate potential flooding risks and improve the overall functionality of the City's drainage system.
In alignment with the City of Fremantle's commitment to sustainability and reducing its environmental footprint, the City is also seeking pricing for an alternative to the standard internal combustion engine (ICE) truck with equivalent specifications. This includes the provision of hybrid or fully electric models, hydrogen-powered vehicles and other relevant proven technologies, offering lower emissions and energy efficiency. While this option will be considered separately from the primary tender requirements, the City reserves the right to select and procure this alternative at its discretion, if deemed to better serve long-term operational goals and environmental objectives.
