Employee Assistance Programs continue to provide a way for WorkCover to support positive health and wellbeing outcomes for employees and their eligible family members.
WorkCover aims to achieve a healthy and engaged workforce, by reducing absenteeism, employee retention, increased productivity, and organisational excellence. While WorkCover offers a range of different wellbeing initiatives, there are several organisational challenges that continue to impact our people including:
- A rise in cost of living driving the link between employee mental health and financial wellbeing.
- Changing legislative requirements in the Worker’s Compensation Scheme impacting our ways of working contributing to high job demands and organisational change.
- The rise in exposure to confronting and aggressive customer interactions.
- Workplace interpersonal stressors are emerging as a domino effect from other psychosocial hazards such as job demands, change management and customer aggression.
Over the last 24 months, WorkCover’s EAP utilisation year on year has remained under 4% and we hope to improve awareness, engagement, and proactive utilisation of these services to uplift employee wellbeing
