OVERVIEW
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) is intending to release a Request for Tender (RFT) in April 2025 and is seeking Expressions of Interest for the provision of Track Recovery Crane Labour Services for the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix events (Event), to be held at Albert Park, Melbourne (Site) from 2026 onwards.
EVENT
The Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix event is held over a four-day period, typically in March/April each year.
Construction of infrastructure to facilitate the Event is carried out over a 12 week build period in accordance with a strict Construction Programme, with dismantle beginning immediately following the Event. Full dismantle is required within four weeks of the Event.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The Track Recovery Crane Labour Services scope includes, but is not limited to:
- The operation of the Track Recovery Crane to recover immobile vehicles from the track, at the direction of Motorsport Australia and Race Control.
- When instructed by Race Control, the Crane Operators will proceed under the supervision of Track Recovery Marshalls to secure, safely lift, and remove race cars from the track to the designated recovery area.
- Each Crane Operator is to be positioned at one of the vehicle recovery locations specified by Motorsport Australia (currently 14 locations). The positions will be manned during track operation hours from Wednesday – Sunday during the Event. Crane Operators will be required to perform duties, and follow all directions given by Motorsport Australia and Race Control in association with the requirements of the track.
