Tender Description
The Contractor is responsible for carrying out Coal Stack Volumetric and Bulk Density Surveys during the months of November and May of the order for a period of two years from 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2027.
LOCATION OF SITE
The Vales Point Power Station is located on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie, approximately 130 km north of Sydney, New South Wales, and approximately 3 km off the Pacific Highway North of Doyalson.
The Vales Point long term coal stockpile area is considered to be 2 stockpile areas; ‘A’ (East) side and ‘B’ (West) side which are separated by the stack out and reclaim conveyor structure. The stockpile has a potential storage capacity of between 0 and 1.3Mt with a usual range of between 200 – 500kt. The stockpile height can vary between 0 and 22 metres but is usually in the range of 8 - 14 metres.
EXTENT OF WORK
The Contractor will carry out a physical survey of the Stockpile to determine its density and volume including any measurements, samples, and tests required to be performed onsite.
The Contractor may use one of the following methodologies to carry out the bulk density portion of the survey and Tenderers are invited to provide proposals for either a single or both options.
Option 1: Core weight sampling
Option 2: Nuclear Backscatter
The Contractor will perform any further offsite tests necessary for the analysis of the Stockpile.
Inclusive of the scope will be the provision of a report (in PDF Format) detailing the results of the survey including the total stockpile weight, volume, and density all with associated error margins. The report will detail the method used and an analysis of the data collected from the stockpile

PRE-TENDER SITE INSPECTION ON REQUEST ONLY
All Tenderers may request a Pre-Tender site inspection at Vales Point Power Station and can be requested in writing to charlie.pearce@de.com.au
Your request should include:
· * Preferred Date and Time (actual dates will be confirmed pending escort availability)
· * Visitor Names and positions
Visitors to the Site must provide and wear their own safety hats, safety footwear, protective safety eyewear (clear glasses), long sleeved shirts (hi-vis) and long trousers or combination overalls (hi-vis).
It is expected that all companies have downloaded and reviewed all documents pertaining to the works prior to the site inspection.
Proof of identity will be required prior to entry.
