Council is seeking quotes for to develop an ambitious though realistic, evidence-based canopy target for each of Alexandrina’s townships, including the number and location of tree plantings required, species mix, and long-term financial requirements. The purpose will be to guide strategic planning and budgeting for Council. This will be part of Council’s Township Greening Strategy.

Scope of Works

Further specified in ‘RFQ000005 - Request For Quotation - Township Greening Strategy Document.’

• Develop realistic, evidence-based canopy targets for Alexandrina’s townships.
• Create prioritised annual planting programs to meet targets.
• Ensure equitable access to trees and green spaces for communities.

Include opportunities for:

-Streetscape plantings.

-Biodiversity plantings in township reserves.

-Community plantings supported by Council (e.g., "Adopt a Tree" or "Adopt a Park" programs, revegetation).

• Provide expertise to identify best options for increasing tree canopy cover.
• Ensure data and documents align with Council’s Township Greening Strategy.
• Present data and outcomes in accessible, easy-to-understand language.
• Append summary findings to the Greening Strategy.
• Support increased greening by addressing:

-Urban heat.

-Community vulnerability to heat.

-Green equity in functional areas.
