OVERVIEW
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) is intending to release a Request for Tender (RFT) in April 2025 and is seeking Expressions of Interest for the provision of Greenery & Plantscaping Services for the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix events (Event), to be held at Albert Park, Melbourne (Site) from 2026 onwards.
EVENT
The Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix event is held over a four-day period, typically in March/April each year.
Construction of infrastructure to facilitate the Event is carried out over a 12 week build period in accordance with a strict Construction Programme, with dismantle beginning immediately following the Event. Full dismantle is required within four weeks of the Event.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The Greenery & Plantscaping Services services scope includes, but is not limited to:
- preliminaries, including provision of own Site facilities;
- the supply of all labour, materials, equipment and consumables necessary for the greenery and plantscaping;
- potted greenery and floral arrangements for corporate facilities;
- greenery, floral arrangements, plantscaping and landscaping for event participant and administration areas;
- greenery, floral arrangements and plantscaping for public areas;
- greenery, floral arrangements, plantscaping and landscaping for high profile areas;
- decking and/or timber cladding for any corporate facilities, high profile areas and other areas upon request and design;
- merbau/brush fence panel installations (or similar);
- removal of Contractor installed greenery, floral arrangements, turf, mulch and other plants from site post event; and
- ‘make good’ works to reinstate areas to their original state.
CONTRACTOR EXPECTATIONS
To support the execution of the Event construction program, the Contractor is required to:
- strictly observe the Event build timelines and occupation schedule;
- strictly adhere to the Principal Contractors Construction Site Safety and AGPC’s site safety rules;
- implement quality management systems, occupational health and safety management plans and environmental, recycling and waste management plans specific to the Services and the Site;
- minimise waste sent to landfill by incorporating recycling techniques throughout the extended period and Event period in conjunction with AGPC;
- comply with all relevant AGPC and Victorian Government policies, including but not limited to, Modern Slavery, Local Jobs First, Social Procurement, Sustainability, Fair Jobs Code and the Supplier Code of Conduct (to the extent applicable);
- cooperate and coordinate with other contractors at the Site; and
- maintain the cleanliness of the Site (including removal of construction debris). Contractors (and their sub-contractors) will ensure construction debris produced by their works is placed in the appropriate waste compound bins.
