Project goals
The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to seek qualified and experienced providers of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services to ensure the integrity and safety of rail in the Sydney Trains network. The solution should be proven on a similar/comparable network and will be evaluated for shortlisting for a further RFx, stage 2 procurement process.
Subject to the outcome of this EOI, it is anticipated the NDT Services contract will be divided into three phases:
- Acceptance Phase (TOC Approval and Test & Commissioning)
- Implementation
- Transitioning and Termination
Scope
The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to seek qualified and experienced providers of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services to ensure the integrity and safety of rail in the Sydney Trains network.
Sydney Trains maintains metropolitan suburban network within Sydney Region as well as intercity train network to Newcastle in the North, Bomaderry Nowra in the South, Macarthur in the Southwest and Lithgow in the West. An average of one million customer rail journeys are made each weekday on the Sydney Trains network on a fleet of 1,789 electric and diesel carriages, travelling on 1,551 kilometres of mainline track, through 1487 mainline turnouts across under 1,119 bridges, through 70 kilometres of tunnels and stopping at 377 stations.
Sydney Trains is responsible for maintaining Transport Asset Holding Entity (TAHE) assets valued inexcess of $40 billion, including rolling stock, stations and rail and electrical infrastructure. Sydney Trains’ staff are responsible for providing regular passenger transport services, ticketing, passenger information, maintenance services, communications and control systems, ICT and technology.
