Ipswich City Council (Council) covers an area of 1,090 square kilometres with a population of approximately 250,000 people. Council is responsible for a range of services and facilities in the local area.

The SEQ City Deal Public Art Initiative is a commitment under the $1.8billion SEQ City Deal between the Australian Government, Queensland Government and the Council of Mayors (SEQ).

A $10 million pool of funding was allocated for public art to be shared across 11 Councils with Ipswich City Council being allocated $810,000 in total to deliver public art project/s in the city. The funding includes consultant fees, design, fabrication, and installation of art, surrounding landscaping and required signage.

To meet these objectives council is seeking Expressions of Interests for public art project/s across four locations in the Ipswich LGA.

• d’Arcy Doyle Place (Art Gallery Forecourt) – Cultural heart project

• Riverheart Parklands – Adaptive reuse of fountain

• Bremervale Park – Ephemeral wetlands enhancement

• Tallegalla Cemetery – Sculptural element
