Tender Description
Project goals
The project aims to upgrade Kangarutha Track to a Class 3 walking track. This renewal will enhance an aging trail, focusing on low-impact improvements that enhance access to beaches and improve safety, particularly on steep sections and within gullies.
Kangarutha Walking Track is a unique hidden coastal bushwalk, towered by tall melaleucas, pockets of littoral rainforest, sandwiched between a rocky shoreline dotted with lookouts and a forest recovering from years of logging. It is recommended minimal disturbance during works to the surrounding bush as it is a forest in repair. Bournda National Park has a unique feel as it was previously a state recreation reserve. As such Kangarutha Track remains part of that park's heritage and its character should remain as a low-key bushwalk with minimal infrastructure.
Scope
- Removal and replacement of timber steps
- Maintenance & Renewal of walking track surface
