SCOPE OF WORK

The Shire of Collie is committed to the sustainable use of water resources and maximising the efficiency of its landscape irrigation systems. The purpose of this Standard Irrigation Specification is to outline the requirements and expectations of The Shire of Collie (The Shire) in relation to the design, installation, and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure assets within the Shire. It will also provide a concise point of reference in the assessment of submissions for approval, for the development of public open spaces and streetscapes.

All work carried out will be as detailed and in accordance with this Standard Irrigation Specification and associated drawings, the whole of which shall be deemed to constitute one document. Any application to deviate from the documented specification and drawings must be submitted to the Shire in writing for approval by the Parks and Gardens Supervisor.

Should any disputes arise because of discrepancies between individual project drawings and this Standard Irrigation specification, this Standard Irrigation Specification document will be given precedence.

Where this Specification references the Shire, Shire of Collie, or Shire representative providing a permission or approval, any such permission or approval will be provided by the Shires Parks & Gardens team through consultation with the Shire’s Parks & Gardens supervisor.

The scope includes the installation of a new irrigation system to Finlay Park landscaped area approx. 4000m2 utilising existing controller as per design provided and the installation of a new mainline at Baarnimarr Park from new water meter to the reserve to be able to be connected to the existing irrigation system. The Finlay Park system will utilise hydro zoning to efficiently water both turf and gardens and will include both Hunter I20’s or similar and Toro 570 pop ups as per the design drawings. Contractor, to familiarise themselves with Finlay Park to determine each sites individual watering requirements.

The Contractor shall provide services, labour, materials, transportation, supervision, and equipment necessary to perform the irrigation work specified.

The irrigation work shall include all work shown on design drawings as well as locating and verification of existing equipment, trenching and backfilling, installation, testing and inspection, clean-up and maintenance of the irrigation system.
