Rockhampton Regional Council (the Council) on behalf of the Central to Defence Working Group (CTDWG) consisting of Gladstone Regional Council, Livingstone Shire Council, Regional Development Australia and Rockhampton Regional Council is looking to appoint a consultant to Develop a Business case for a Central Queensland Defence Industry Precinct.

The Business case will focus on the establishment of a Defence Industry Precinct which would support the Defence industry in Central Queensland. The business case will be used to support the attraction of Defence Primes and other major defence businesses to expand the broader Defence sector existing presence in Central Queensland. Defence, State-owned and commercial infrastructure and assets such as the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA), Rockhampton Airport, Port of Gladstone, Port Alma (Class 1 explosives) and the Bajool explosives reserve area are examples of existing capabilities and capacities which can be considered as enabling factors for the precinct in the development of the business case.
