Expressions of interest are open for 2 NSW or ACT Paediatric Basic or Advanced Trainees to join the NSW/ACT Trainees' Committee.
Description
The Committee represents the interests of all trainees from NSW and ACT, so they feel engaged, supported and with their interests are considered. Its functions are to:
- provide a forum which represents the views of trainees
- advocate on behalf of trainees in matters relating to their selection, training, assessment, supervision and overall education experience
- make recommendations to the NSW/ACT Committee regarding policy relating to trainee matters
- advance the interest of the College in NSW and ACT in the activities of the College
- support the training and careers of trainees in NSW and ACT
The activities of the Committee must be consistent with the policies, projects and direction of the NSW/ACT Committee that have College wide responsibility in respect of education, training, trainees, continual professional development and workforce and the College’s strategic directions.
The Committee meets 5 times per year mostly via video conference, with the option for one face to face meeting per year. Members may also need to attend careers and trainee events.
