The Advanced Training Committee (ATC) in Geriatric Medicine is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for an Advanced Trainee Representative on the Committee.
Description
The ATC are seeking EOIs from first or second year Geriatric Medicine Advanced Trainees to join as the Advanced Trainee Representative.
The College recognises that trainees, as future Fellows of the College, have a very important role in the College’s training program. As such, the College involves trainees in all aspects of its complex governance as representatives of their fellow trainees.
This is a great opportunity if you are willing to share your perspectives from a trainee’s view as you will assist in communication between the ATC and Advanced Trainees.
Being an Advanced Trainee (AT) Representative will also allow you to be involved and understand how the training committee make decisions to support individual trainees’ progression throughout the course of their training.
Other responsibilities
- Commitment to regular attendance at meetings of the Committee
- Providing trainee perspectives to the issues of concern
- Representing trainees’ interests
- Advocating on behalf of trainees.

Meetings are held four times per year, with one face to face meeting usually occurring in March or November.
Members are appointed to the ATC for a three-year term and can be renewed for a further term or until the Advanced Trainee becomes eligible for Fellowship.
