Tender ID: 579275
Tender Details
Tender Description
The City of Greater Geelong seek to establish qualified and experienced contractors to deliver weed control and other environmental works on nature reserves and rural road reserves throughout the municipality.
The objective of this work is to maintain and improve the health of natural assets and ecosystems on City managed land.
Background
The City’s nature reserves are conservation areas with important environmental values. They contain locally indigenous plants, habitat for native animals and remnants of native vegetation.
Some nature reserves include wetlands and other interesting geological features. Many are woodlands supporting eucalyptus or other native trees. Others are covered by indigenous shrubs or grasses. Our coastal areas are also nature reserves.
We manage our nature reserves to protect them from threatening processes such as weed and rabbit infestation and to improve their natural values.
Many of our rural road reserves also support native vegetation and provide habitat for biodiversity. We manage these to prevent degradation from weed infestation and other threats.
Please refer to the tender documentation issued for further details regarding the full scope of works required under this contract.
Late tenders will not be accepted.
