Tender ID: 579306
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Geological Survey of South Australia, Department for Energy and Mining (GSSA-DEM) is seeking information from the information technology community to provide an innovative and scalable virtual South Australian drill core library.
The South Australia drill core library is globally recognised as providing the best possible services to industry, academia and the people of South Australia. The library hosts geological samples recovered from over 140 years of exploration for minerals and energy resources available as drill core, rock samples and thin sections.
These irreplaceable samples represent valuable direct records of the geological materials retrieved from the depths of the crust, that will continue to be investigated and analysed by new generations of geologists in industry, research, education and government.
The Core Library is constantly evolving as it continues to receive new drill core samples from ongoing exploration and GSSA programs.
The “SARIG Core Intelligence Digital Platform” will focus on expanding the digital footprint of the physical core library and establish the foundations from which further innovation and improved digital services can be provided.
This Request for Information is an information gathering process in which the GSSA-DEM seeks to collect information and opinions from services and solutions providers.
Information gathered through this process and other industry engagement initiatives may be used to help inform the Department of Energy and Mining of market participants and capabilities ahead of a planned market approach within the next 4-6 months.
RFI submissions can be sent directly to the email account in the RFI documentation at any time up until 17 March 2025.
