Hilltops Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced parties to undertake the construction of a trunk drainage line within the township of Young, NSW.

The proposed works requires the selected Contractor to undertake the construction of a major trunk drainage upgrade within the existing Railway Corridor, along Lynch Street, and discharge into Burrangong Creek near Marina Street, Young NSW. This work is required to be undertaken by specialist contractors who can evidence similar previous experience.

The proposed works include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. The demolition of a section of the existing 1500mm diameter corrugated steel pipe which runs along the northern boundary of the railway corridor.

2. Construction of a 3m wide by 1.6m deep reinforced concrete channel.

3. The installation of twin 1500mm diameter pipes and associated drainage pits within Lynch Street.

4. Connection of the existing stormwater drainage system to the new trunk drainage line.

5. The construction of a new headwall structure on the northern bank of Burrangong Creek a short distance downstream of the Lynch Street bridge. The headwall will incorporate scour protection measures in the form of rock rip rap or similar.
