Each year, our Community Grants program offers over $270,000 annually. Grant funding enables community groups and not-for-profit organisations to provide local activities, projects and events. Our Community Development team are available to answer questions about how to apply, grant eligibility criteria and general queries (03) 5366 7100 or info@moorabool.vic.gov.au
Application form
Submissions for the August Community Grant round will open on 1 March 2025. We accept grant submissions via the online platform SmartyGrants.

Community Grants Writing Workshop
A Community Grant Writing Workshop will be held on Thursday 27 February from 6-7pm via Teams.
The workshop will be delivered by Council staff and will cover topics relating to the Community Grants Program including:
- Eligibility requirements
- Previously successful projects
- Available funding streams
- How to answer the assessment criteria
- The assessment and approval process
There will be additional time to discuss your project ideas with staff after the presentation.
Community Grant Drop-in Sessions
Our drop-in sessions are available for applicants who require further assistance to submit a community grant application. These sessions can cover anything applicants require assistance with, such as responding to assessment criteria, gathering required documentation, navigating the SmartyGrants platform or any digital guidance and assistance. We encourage you to book in advance to reserve a spot, however walk-ins are welcome if you are unable to book in advance. There may be a short wait if Council staff are already in a session with a ticket holder.
Sessions are available in March in the following locations:
- Monday 3 March 2:00pm to 7:00pm- Lerderderg Library, Bacchus Marsh
- Tuesday 4 March 2.00 to 7.00pm- Ballan Neighbourhood House, Ballan
- Thursday 6 March 2.00 to 7.00pm- St. Martin's Chapel, Blackwood
