Tender Description
The Ministry established the Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service (TUR – NZFS) Science and Research Panel (‘the Panel’) in 2023. The Panel’s aim is to provide the majority of the forestry science and research services the Ministry sources from external suppliers in accordance with TUR – NZFS strategic objectives.
The Ministry is expanding the number of suppliers on the Panel with a focus on suppliers capable of delivering from 11 specific research categories which are required to ensure alignment with our future research needs and identified capability gaps This opportunity is open to both new and existing suppliers.
TUR – NZFS works with tangata whenua, landowners and the forestry and wood processing sectors to make the most of our forests contribution to Aotearoa New Zealand’s social, cultural, environmental, and economic wellbeing. TUR – NZFS has a wide variety of research needs. Research may include activities such as literature reviews, undertaking trials including propagation, planting and harvesting, data gathering utilising traditional and new approaches such as remote sensing, analysis, insights, and recommendations. Specific assignment will be shared with Panel members through the procurement process however a forward plan of the forestry research proposed activity is shared annually with the panel.
