Tender Details
Tender Description
The Farmers Creek Precinct Master Plan was prepared and adopted by Council in 2017 as a strategic framework for enhancement and development of Farmer’s Creek.
The Farmers Creek Masterplan aims to create clear and achievable management strategies for public lands within the Farmers Creek precinct and to provide clarity and direction for future development use and management of community lands. It identifies areas for development of a shared cycle and walking pathway, weed locations and density, native species revegetation and improvements to stormwater management. Additionally, it offers opportunities for outdoor education and environmental interpretation.
The Masterplan can be downloaded from Lithgow City Councils website: Farmers Creek Precinct Master Plan - Lithgow City Council
Since the Masterplan was adopted in 2017 a significant number of recommendations identified in stages 1, 2 and 3, Section 6.4, of the Farmers Creek Masterplan have been delivered. Shared pathway networks have been constructed or are underway, providing the community safe and uninterrupted pedestrian or cycle travel from Lake Pillans and Blast Furnace Park to Chivers Close via Lithgow's Sporting Precinct. Significant environmental works including priority Weed control and revegetation has taken place across all planning units, primarily undertaken by Lithgow Oberon Landcare Association.
Farmers Creek precinct has also been flood affected in recent years due to heavy rainfall.
