Scope of Work:

The work included comprises the provision of all plant, equipment, tools, consumables, materials, labour and supervision for the documented upgrades at the Strahan Slip Yard, located on the Esplanade in Strahan.

This work includes, but is not limited to the following:

1. Preliminaries

a. Allow for contract preliminaries and overheads.

b. Maintain insurance as per contract conditions.

c. Complete WCC inductions for all personnel and sub-contractors working on site.

d. Comply with all WCC contractor conditions, policies and procedures.

e. Prepare a project specific construction management plan addressing safety, environment and quality aspects.

f. Site establishment and provision of contractor facilities as required

g. Install and maintain safety barricading around the construction site, including signage and any other safety requirements.

h. Prepare project specific risk assessments and safe work method statements and incorporate control measures in the works. Conduct daily toolbox meetings, take 5 and other safety coordination and communications including liaison with other contractors.

i. Construction management, contract administration and supervision of the works, including coordination with the Simplot and other contractors working on the site.

j. Site ‘house keeping’ and clean up during progress of the works.

k. Demobilise on completion of the contract and clean up and removal of all construction debris.

l. All other contract overheads.

2. Slipping Cradle Modifications

a. Removal of 100T slip support cross beams, including the disposal of beams not required for reuse

b. Fabrication and installation of new UC support beams

c. Modification and installation of reused UC support beams

d. Fabrication and installation of 8-off new stainless steel adjustment shafts, including reinstallation of sponson arms

e. Fabrication and installation of new tie beams

f. Modification of existing stainless steel adjustment shaft to form 8-off ‘stabilisation jacks’

g. Provision and installation of treated timber keel blocks, including connection brackets

h. Prepare shop drawings of all steelwork for approval by superintendent

i. Grit blast cleaning and repainting of entire cradle assemblies, including existing, re-used and new components

j. All other works necessary for the satisfactory completion of the slipping cradle modifications.
