Project goals

Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Tenderers for T41-25 Demolition of the Greenacre Leisure and Aquatic Centre.

Council requires that licensed contractors be used for all work involving the demolition of 50% or more of the floor area of a single dwelling or building. Unlicensed Demolition Contractors will not be considered.

Scope

Greenacre Leisure and Aquatic Centre is located off 33 Banksia Road, Greenacre, and is part of the Greenacre Civic Precinct. Overall participation was low, with attendance at only 25,350 in 2015-16. The centre was only open for five months of the year, from November through to March (the summer months). In September 2016, Council made the decision to close the facility, due to issues with the pool wet deck and concourse which would require significant investment to remedy. It is now time to decommission and remediate the site, prior to integration into Community Place as part of the Community Place Masterplan.

A full description of the nature and extent of the services required by Council are set out in Section 3 of this Request. The Greenacre Leisure and Aquatic Centre demolition project is scheduled to commence in early April 2025 and complete by the end of June 2025.

A non-compulsory briefing / site inspection will be held on 4th March 2025 at 11:00 am.

All Contractors are to meet in the car park of the Greenacre Leisure and Aquatic Centre, 33 Banksia Road, Greenacre, NSW, 2190. Gates will be open from 10:45am.
