La Trobe University’s Bundoora Campus was developed in the late 1960’s and has undergone significant change over the past fifty years. As buildings have been developed a range of Fire Alarm systems (Tyco, Vigilant) have been deployed across the campus which are reaching the end of the useful lives as standards are updated and equipment parts become scarce and manufacturer support is gradually reduced.

The current backbone comms infrastructure networking the Fire Detection and Alarm Systems is on the shared La Trobe University communications backbone, which limits opportunity for expansion of the overall network.

This intent of this project is to retire and replace existing Fire Detection & Alarm Systems in buildings on the campus network, in order to address issues of;

• Equipment Obsolescence
• Non-compliance with standards
• Expandability of network to accommodate future campus expansion

 Works will be documented and tendered as a Design and Construct Delivery Contract.

Hence, LTU are seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified and experienced Fire Detection and Alarm contractors to complete a full changeover of Fire Alarm systems from existing FDCIE's to new Vigilant MX-1. See attached FDCIE Site Map to gain an appreciation of the scope.
